Ski resort “Chimbulak” is located in the picturesque gorge of Trans-Ili Alatau at an altitude of 2260 m above sea level, 25 km from the center of the city of Almaty. The average temperature in summer is + 20C in winter -7S. Average snow depth to 150 cm, the number of sunny days per year to 90%. Time of snow cover from November to May. The ski slopes are served by two twin-chair lifts, one chair and a yoke cableways and free tow lift. In 2003 came into operation 4 local road, opened a new area for lovers of extreme skiing. Горнолыжный курорт “Чимбулак” расположен в живописном ущелье Заилийского Алатау на высоте 2260 м над уровнем моря в 25 км от центра города Алматы. Средняя температура воздуха летом +20С, зимой -7С. Средняя толщина снежного покрова до 150 см, количество солнечных дней в году до 90%. Время залегания снежного покрова с ноября по май. Горнолыжные трассы обслуживаются двумя парно-кресельными, одно- кресельной и бугельной канатной дорогами, а также бесплатный буксировочный подъемник. С 2003 года вошла в эксплуатацию 4-местная дорога, открывшая новый регион для любителей экстремального катания. Подъемники поднимут Вас с высоты 2260 м, над уровнем моря до Талгарского перевала (3163 м), перепад высоты 903 м. Трассы готовятся тремя снегоуплотнительными машинами (Ратрак).
На высоту 3163 метра над уровнем моря стартуют вверх подъемники. Справа и слева перед вамиShimbulak предстают величественные горы со снежными склонами и вечно зелеными тянь-шаньскими елями. Визитная карточка Чимбулака – разнообразие маршрутов, среди которых пологие и мягкие склоны для начинающих, длинные трассы для подготовленных лыжников, ФИС-трассы для скоростного спуска, дикие долины с нетронутым снегом и халф-пайп для сноубордистов, экстремальные виражи для профи, специальная трасса для могула. Каждый год на Чимбулаке появляются новые маршруты. Горнолыжные трассы Чимбулака аттестованы Международной Федерацией Горнолыжного Спорта (FIS).
