[:en]Tourism Workshop with “Grand Tour Voyage”

Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow organized a workshop on Sri Lanka in collaboration with multi-tour operator “Grand Tour Voyage” on the April 3, 2012 the seminar was attended by 40 managers from various agencies. This workshop is one of the continued the series of seminars that the Embassy of Sri Lanka organizes.
The seminar was opened by H.E. Mr. Udayanga Weeratunga, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia. He explained about the features of stay in Sri Lanka, the visa procedures, the Sri Lankan souvenirs, as well as of the main tour routes and sights of the island. H.E. Mr. Weeratunga told about regions and cities of Sri Lanka, and even mentioned some famous legends and interesting stories, which certainly helped the agencies to understand Sri Lanka better and to get an inside view of the country. The Ambassador noted strong growth and development of tourism in Sri Lanka – in the past year 2011 Sri Lanka received 21,385 tourists from Russia, which is 61% more than in 2010.
The Ambassador presented the new Tourism Catalog on Sri Lanka. The book contains complete information about the country, its history, culture, attractions and hotels of the island.
The seminar was also attended by SriLankan Airlines representative. The Head of Moscow Office of SriLankan Airlines Ms. Anna Korolkova spoke about the airline, services on board and also explained about the new product – Air taxi, which allows tourists to reduce the time for internal travel in the island.
During the workshop, all participants received gifts from the Embassy: audio CD-guide, brochures on Sri Lanka and the SriLankan Airlines, the famous Ceylon tea, and of course, the above mentioned Catalog on Sri Lanka.
At the end of the seminar the representatives of “Grand Tour Voyage” and Ms. Julia Shestakova, Tourism Director of the company, told the travel agents about the main tourist packages and hotels in Sri Lanka. Later, all participants were invited to a Sri Lankan dinner, organized by the Embassy.

Посольство ДСР Шри-Ланки провело семинар, посвященный Шри-Ланке. Семинар организован многопрофильным туроператором Гранд Тур Вояж, на нем присутствовало около 40 менеджеров различных агентств. Данный семинар продолжил серию семинаров, которые Посольство Шри-Ланки ежегодно организует в своих стенах.
На семинаре выступил Посол Шри-Ланки Е.П. г-н Удаянга Виратунга. В течение 2-х часов господин Посол рассказывал менеджерам агентств об особенностях отдыха в его стране, визовом режиме, Шри-ланкийских сувенирах, а так же об основных экскурсионных маршрутах и достопримечательностях острова. Г-н Удаянга Виратунга дал советы и свои рекомендации относительно отелей, регионов для отдыха, рассказал легенды, которыми славится Шри-Ланка, а так же вспомнил много интересных историй из жизни, что, безусловно, помогло агентствам лучше понять Шри-Ланку и почувствовать страну изнутри. Г-н Посол отметил активный рост и развитие туризма Шри-Ланки — в прошедшем 2011 году Шри-Ланка приняла 21385 туристов из России, что на 61 % больше, чем в 2010 году.
Выступление сопровождалось видео-презентацией. С радостью г-н Посол представил участникам семинара новый туристический каталог по Шри-Ланке, который он подготовил лично. Книга содержит полную информацию о стране, ее истории, культуре, достопримечательностях, а также отелях острова, как внутри страны, так и на побережье.
В семинаре также участвовала авиакомпания ШриЛанкан Эйрлайнз. Руководитель ШриЛанкан Эйрлайнз Анна Королькова рассказала о продукте авиакомпании, сервисе на борту, а также представила один из новых продуктов – Авиатакси, которое позволяет туристам сократить время на внутренние переезды по острову.
Во время встречи все участники получили подарки от Посольства ДСР Шри-Ланка: CD-аудиогид, брошюры о Шри-Ланке и об авиакомпании ШриЛанкан Эйрлайнз, знаменитый Цейлонский чай с фотографией семьи г-на Посла и, конечно, вышеупомянутый туристический каталог по Шри-Ланке.
В конце семинара перед аудиторией выступили представители компании Гранд Тур Вояж и директор по туризму Юлия Шестакова, которые более подробно рассказали турагентам об основных туристических пакетах и отелях Шри-Ланки. Позже все участники семинара были приглашены на ланкийский обед, организованный Посольством.
