[:en]Embassy Staff celebrated Victory over Terrorism

Staff of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Russian federation gathered in embassy outside Friday Heroes’ Day and the Sri Lankan victory against terrorism. Ambassador Udayanga Weeratunga congratulated the President, Defense Secretary, Army, Navy, Air Force and Police Commanders and all the service men and women for their contribution.
This special gathering started with hosting of National flag and minutes silence and ended with the patriot songs.

Празднование долгожданной победы Шри Ланки над терроризмом состоялось в Посольстве в Москве. В начале церемонии торжественно был поднят национальный флаг страны, прозвучал гимн Шри Ланки. Затем все сотрудники почтили минутой молчания погибших героев. Традиционный для такого мероприятия Кирибат (молочный рис) был накрыт на лужайке неподалеку.
Посол Шри Ланки поздравил Президента страны и трех главнокомандующих, а так же выразил огромную благодарность России за поддержку, которую она оказала Шри Ланке в борьбе с терроризмом.
В Шри Ланке за время национального конфликта, который продолжался более 26 лет, ни один иностранный турист не пострадал. Сегодня страна является безопасным местом отдыха.
