It is becomes a tradition to have a workshops devoted to Sri Lanka at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow. This winter season 2010/2011 will not be the exception to the rule. On 11th November, 2010 first workshop of winter series took place at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow in cooperation with the oldest travel company selling Sri Lanka Connaissance. More than 35 agents took part in the event.
The Ambassador of Sri Lanka H.E. Udayanga Weeratunga addressed participants. He informed them about the current situation in Sri Lanka Tourism industry, told about the country, main itineraries, heritage, cuisine, and visa formalities. His narration abounded in interesting funny stories, personal experience, and island ancient legends. His speech was accompanied with a nice photo presentation of Sri Lanka.
Then H.E. the Ambassador took part in a short drawing. Small useful presents reminding Sri Lanka were handed over to lucky agents, who know the island heritage, history and customs.
Director General of Connaissance travel company Mrs. Olga Arhipova informed participants about winter programs of the company and recommended hotels.
The event was concluded with a Sri Lankan lunch and best Ceylon tea. Agents could not only get some information about the country but to feel some taste of the Island of Paradise.

Семинары, организованные Посольством Шри Ланки в Москве становятся уже доброй традицией. Предстоящий зимний сезон 2010-2011 не стал исключением из правила.
11 ноября 2010 года первая рабочая встреча зимней серии семинаров прошла в Посольстве Шри Ланки в Москве. Встреча была организована совместно с компанией Коннайсанс — старейшей компанией, предлагающей российским туристам туры в Шри Ланку. Более 35 менеджеров туристических агентств приняли участие в мероприятии.
Посол Шри Ланки Е.П. Удаянга Виратунга выступил перед собравшимися. Он сообщил о текущем положении дел в туристической индустрии страны, рассказал об основных туристических маршрутах, достопримечательностях, кухне, визовых формальностях для туристов. Его повествование было наполнено шутками, интересными историями из его собственного опыта общения с туристами, а так же рассказами о древних легендах, которыми овеян почти каждый памятник, каждый город и каждый храм Шри Ланки. Речь г-на Посла сопровождалась красочной фото презентацией.
Затем, г-н Посол принял участие в лотерее. Небольшие призы и подарки из Шри Ланки получили удачливые агенты, которые ответили на вопросы о стране, истории и традициях.
Генеральный директор компании Коннайсанс г-жа Ольга Архипова выступила перед собравшимися агентствами с информацией о зимних турах и предложениях компании, а так же предложила агентствам обратить внимание на некоторые отели, рекомендуемые к бронированию компанией в предстоящем сезоне.
В завершение встречи гостям был предложен легкий шриланкийский обед и настоящий цейлонский чай. Присутствующие менеджеры агентств смогли не только получить ценную информацию из первых рук о стране, но и ощутить Шри Ланку на вкус.
