The presentation of the book “President of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa “Leadership” was held at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow on 12th August, 2010. The Book is presented by H.E. Mr. Udayanga Weeratunga, the Ambassador of Sri Lanka. Ambassadors, diplomats, journalists, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, heads of travel & tea companies were presented at the Reception.
Now Sri Lanka is on the threshold of a new bright future, in which confidently leading the country by President Mahinda Rajapaksa. In the history of the state, which has ancient roots and 2500 years of history, were not so many leaders who have received the status of “National Hero”. Mahinda Rajapaksa – one of them. Mahinda Rajapaksa is to some an enigma. His rise to power has been phenomenal. His is an improbable story. That story is epic. “I am sure that the whole world looks towards Sri Lanka and its President, because the world can learn from a small country that has been able to defeat terrorism”- H.E. Udayanga Weeratunga, the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation said. History of the President of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa – the history of the present leader. We all need to learn the main lesson of his difficult and arduous journey of service to the nation – the power of the people in its unity!

12 августа 2010 года в Посольстве Шри Ланка в Российской Федерации прошел торжественный прием, посвященный презентации книги «Наш лидер» о Президенте Шри Ланка Е.П. Махинда Раджапакса на русском и английском языках. Автором 220 страничной книги является Посол Шри Ланка в России Е.П. Удаянга Виратунга.
Несмотря на жару, в стенах Посольства собралась теплая компания важных гостей, среди которых были и Послы иностранных государств, дипломаты, представители МИД РФ, руководители туристических компаний, авиакомпаний, журналисты, представители чайной индустрии, а так же верные и преданные друзья Шри Ланки.
В истории государства Шри Ланка, которое имеет боле 2500 лет истории, было не так много лидеров, которые получили статус «национального героя». Президент Махинда Раджапакса – один их них. Его история удивительна. Он прошел путь от простого юноши, родившегося на юге Шри-Ланки и ставшего депутатом, до Президента страны в течение 40 лет. Все это время он работал на благо страны, не делал перерыв ни на минуту. «Уверен, что весь Мир смотрит в сторону Шри-Ланки и ее Президента, потому что миру есть чему поучиться у небольшой страны, которая единственная смогла победить терроризм», — отметил Е.П. Удаянга Виратунга. История Президента Шри Ланки Махинда Раджапакса – история настоящего лидера. Мы все получили главный урок из его трудного и непростого пути служения нации – сила народа в его единстве!
