Embassy of Sri Lanka was a sponsor of the “International Banking Award – 2009” on 21st of May 2009 in cooperation with Taj Exotica Hotel 5*, Bentota, and Qatar Airways. Russian Central Bank, the 1st prize-winner, got the special star as the “Best Russian Bank – 2009”. The head of the Central Bank department of licensing made a major contribution to the developing of Russian Banking System and was awarded a 10 days trip for 2 persons to Sri Lanka in Taj Exotica, Bentota on HB basis presented by H.E. personally.
The Ambassador noted that Taj Exotica one of the most comfortable and splendid hotel on the western coast of Sri Lanka. H.E. had a speech during the ceremony and declared the end of war in Sri Lanka together with invitation for guests to visit Sri Lanka – a miracle Island and the best holiday and MICE destination within Asia.

Also Ambassador said that near future Russian national currency ruble will becomes the most stable and strong all over the world.

This Award was instituted in 2005 by the media holding company “Informbank” in co-operation with Regional Banks Association, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, Russian Business owner and Industrialist Union, European Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Russian Governmental Financial Academy. The biggest Russian Banks participated the event including the regional Banks and brunches. The ceremony took place at a very nice banquet hall for 300 guests attended by the brass band of the Russian Armed Forces. All guests were presented with Sri Lankan brochures and 30 prize-winners got finest Ceylon tea from the Ambassador and Taj Exotica’s brochures as well. Sri Lanka had its LOGO on all invitation cards and event’s programs.

Москве в банкетном зале ресторана «ЯРЪ» прошла 5 церемония награждения лауреатов международной премии «Банковское Дело». В этом году Шри Ланка впервые приняла участие в церемонии награждения лауреатов премии в качестве партнера и спонсора. «Пусть рубль будет самой крепкой валютой в Мире!» — провозгласил тост г-н Посол банкирам России.
Посол Шри Ланки, г-н Удаянга Виратунга, лично поднялся на сцену, чтобы вручить путевку на двоих на 10 дней в отель Тадж Экзотика 5* лауреату специального памятного знака за большой личный вклад в развитие банковской системы, кавалеру всех орденов и степеней наград в области Банковского Дела, Сухову Михаилу Игоревичу, директору департамента лицензирования деятельности и финансового оздоровления кредитных организаций Банка России.
«Так совпало, что для меня сегодня двойной праздник быть здесь и отмечать национальный день Шри Ланки в честь победы и окончания внутреннего конфликта, продолжавшегося в стране более 26 лет», — отметил Его Превосходительство Удаянга Виратунга в своей приветственной речи гостям праздника и пожелал всем финансовых успехов и процветания!
Шри Ланка благодарит авиакомпанию «Qatar Airways» за предоставление победителю двух билетов бизнес — класса по маршруту Москва – Коломбо – Москва.
Девизом парада победителей стала фраза «России честь приумножая!» Около 250 гостей были встречены духовым оркестром Вооруженных Сил Российской Федерации, а завершилось мероприятие праздничным салютом и танцевальной программой с участием звезд Российской эстрады.
В 2005 году медиа-холдинг «Агентство Информбанк» при поддержке Ассоциации региональных банков России, ТПП РФ, Российского Союза Предпринимателей и Промышленников, Европейской палаты коммерции и торговли, Финансовой Академии при Правительстве РФ учредили международную премию «Банковское Дело». В ней принимают участие крупнейшие банки России, в том числе и региональные. Премия получила поддержку Всемирного банка, губернаторов областей, Совета Федерации, Государственной Думы РФ, Европейской палаты коммерции и торговли Центрального Банка РФ.
Все гости мероприятия получили брошюры о Шри Ланке – загадочном острове – чудо в Азии, а 30 лауреатам премии был предоставлен настоящий Цейлонский чай от Посла ДСР Шри Ланки и памятный приз одного из лучших отелей западного побережья — Тадж Экзотика 5* (Taj Exotica, Bentota).
