Embassy of Sri Lanka in Russia participated the 18th International Travel Fair UKRAINE’2010 from 6th till 8th October, 2010 in Kiev. This year 10 sub exhibitors from Sri Lanka participated the Fair: Calista Travel, Diethelm Travel, Maldiviana, Tangerine Tours, Jetwing Travels, Exotic vacations, Walkers Tours, Exotic Global Holidays, Concord Exotic Voyages, Delux Holidays.
Sri Lanka Stand was inaugurated by H.E. the Ambassador Udayanga Weeratunga, who addressed a speech to all Sri Lankan participants and wish them good luck. The Ambassador mentioned a intention to participate a Travel Fair in Kazakhstan next year. “We are happy to open a new highly potential market for all Sri Lankan who are interested in CIS countries”, – said the Ambassador. All companies recorded the activity of visitors during the Fair.
Refer to the statistic the popularity of Sri Lanka in Ukraine is high. For the last September 2010 the increase in Ukrainian tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka increased for 44.6%. For 9th month 2010 Sri Lanka got Ukrainian tourists for 123,5% more than for the same period of 2009. Ukrainian International Airlines will commence a connection flight from Kiev to Colombo in December, 2010. This will be a great support for Sri Lanka.

С 6 по 8 октября 2010 года в Международном Выставочном Центре в Киеве прошла 18 международная туристическая выставка УКРАИНА’2010. Посольство Шри Ланки вместе с 10 компаниями из Шри ланки принимало активное участие в этом мероприятии Calista Travel, Diethelm Travels, Maldiviana, Tangerine Tours, Jetwing Travels, Exotic Vacation, Walkers Tours, Concord Exotic Voyages, Exotic Global Holidays, Delux Holidays.
Стенд выставки был открыт Послом Шри Ланки г-ном Удаянга Виратунга, который обратился с речью к участникам и пожелал им удачи. Г-н Посол так же отметил о планах Шри Ланки принять участие в выставке в Казахстане в следующем году. «Мы с радостью поможем всем, кто хочет открыть для своей компании новый перспективный рынок в странах СНГ», — сказал г-н Посол. Все участники отметили активность посетителей и плодотворность работы на выставке.
Согласно статистике, поток Украинских туристов в Шри Ланку неуклонно растет, причем стремительными темпами. По итогам сентября месяца 2010 года рост потока составил 44,6%. В общем за 9 месяцев 2010 года Шри Ланку посетило на 123,5% туристов больше, чем за аналогичные период прошлого года. В декабре месяце авиакомпания МАУ (Национальные Авиалинии Украины) начинает летать в Коломбо со стыковкой в Абу-даби, что, безусловно, поддержит рост туристического потока в Шри Ланку из Украины.
