[:en]“MITT 2012″ Tourism & Travel Fair in Moscow
21st-24th March, 2012
19th International Travel & Tourism Fair “MITT 2012” was held on March 21-24, 2012 at the Expo Center in Moscow, Russia. Sri Lanka Embassy in Moscow organized the “Sri Lanka Stand” with support of Sri Lanka Tourism promotion Bureau.
14 companies, namely: Tangerine Tours, Exotic Global Holidays, Pigeon Island Beach Resort, Ceylon Tours Ltd, Mount Lavinia Hotel/Club Bentota, Maldiviana Sri Lanka Ltd, Connaissance de Ceylon (Pvt) Ltd, Aitken Spence Travels (Pvt) Ltd, Concord Exotic Voyages, Jetwing Travels & Hotels, Delux Holidays, Walkers Tours, Nkar Travels and Uga Resort took part at the Sri Lanka stand.
H.E. the Ambassador Udayanga Weeratunga opened the Sri Lanka stand by lighting the traditional oil lamp along with other participants. Delivering the speech at the opening ceremony, Ambassador Weeratunga highlighted the positive tendency of tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka and requested the support of all participants to continue attracting tourists to the country in accordance with the government target; 2.5 million tourists by 2016.

Also the Ambassador presented the new Sri Lanka Catalog on Tourism prepared by him personally and with the appreciative help of Mr. Rummy Jauffer, Managing Director of Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, Ms. Anna Korolkova, Director General of SriLankan Airlines in Russia and Mr. Nuwan Ratayake, 2nd Secretary of the Embassy.

SriLankan Airlines also participated in the Sri Lanka stand. This airline started its regular flights from Moscow to Colombo on September, 17, 2011. Every month up to 1000 passengers travel with SriLankan Airlines. Ms. Anna Korolkova informed “MITT 2012” visitors that due to the noticeable growth of the tourists, the company is going to increase weekly number of flights (Moscow – Colombo) from 2 to 3-4 the nearest future.

Ambassador Weeratunga invited all Sri Lankan participants, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau officials and tour/travel operators in Russia to participate at the 12th Kazakhstan International Tourism Fair which will be held on April 25-27, 2012 in Almaty.

В ЦВК «Экспоцентр» на Красной Пресне (г. Москва), прошла 19-я Московская Международная Туристическая выставка «MITT 2012 Путешествия и Туризм». Выставочный стенд «Шри-Ланка» был организован Департаментом развития туризма Шри-Ланки совместно с Посольством Шри-Ланки в России.
На стенде было представлено 14 компаний: Tangerine Tours, Exotic Global Holidays, Pigeon Island Beach Resort, Ceylon Tours Ltd, Mount Lavinia Hotel/Club Bentota, Maldiviana Sri Lanka Ltd, Connaissance de Ceylon (Pvt) Ltd, Aitken Spence Travels (Pvt) Ltd, Concord Exotic Voyages, Jetwing Travels & Hotels, Delux Holidays, Walkers Tours, Nkar Travels и Uga Resort.
Его Превосходительство г-н Удаянга Виратунга, Посол Шри-Ланки в России открыл выставочный стенд традиционным зажиганием свечей на масляной лампе. В этой церемонии приняли участие все присутствующие на стенде компании. После этого Посол произнес речь, в которой рассказал о позитивной динамике роста туризма в Шри-Ланку и попросил участников выставки и дальше способствовать привлечению туристов в Шри-Ланку в соответствии с правительственным планом — обеспечить приток 2,5 млн. туристов со всего мира к 2016 году.

Также г-н Посол представил новый Туристический Каталог по Шри-Ланке, который он подготовил лично. Конечно же, он отметил неоценимую помощь в создании этого каталога г-на Румми Джафера, Управляющего директора Департамента Развития Туризма Шри-Ланки, г-жу Анну Королькову, Генерального директора авиакомпании «ШриЛанкан Эйрлайнз» в России, и г-на Нувана Ратнаяке, 2 секретаря Посольства.

В выставке «MITT 2012» приняла участие и авиакомпания «ШриЛанкан Эйрлайнз», которая начала осуществлять регулярные рейсы в Коломбо 17 сентября 2011 года. Каждый месяц авиакомпания перевозит в Шри-Ланку до 1000 пассажиров. Г-жа Анна Королькова проинформировала посетителей и участников выставки, что в связи с заметным ростом числа туристов из России и Украины, «ШриЛанкан Эйрлайнз» планирует в ближайшем будущем увеличить количество рейсов Москва-Коломбо с 2-х до 3-4-х в неделю.

В заключение, Его Превосходительство, г-н У.Виратунга пригласил все ланкийские компании принять участие в 12-й Казахстанской Международной Туристической Выставке «KITF 2012», которая состоится 25-27 апреля 2012 года в г.Алматы.
