We all need to learn the main lesson of his difficult and arduous journey of service to the nation – the power of the people in its unity! Mahinda Rajapaksa returned to the people of his national pride, and now all Sri Lankans can say “We one People, one Nation!”
The visit of President Mahinda Rajapaksa to Ukraine concluded from 29th June to 03rd July, 2010. That this visit was the first by a Sri Lankan Head of State while also being the second visit by a world leader to Ukraine since the inauguration of Ukraine President Viktor Yanukovich should easily explain the significance of the visit to both Sri Lanka and Ukraine. Keeping in line with the new foreign policy of Sri Lanka, the official delegation led by President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Minister of External Affairs Prof. G.L. Peiris held detailed bilateral talks with Ukraine President Viktor Yanukovich.
Welcomed by Hon. Kostyantyn Gryshchenko- Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Mr. Leonid Chernovetskyi -Mayor of Kiev. At the foot of the aircraft steps, 3 Ukrainian girls present Bread & salt to the President. Also 2 Ukrainian girls present flowers to the Madam Rajapaksa. H.E. the President walk on the Red carpet and later Head of the Presidential Secretariat will introduce Ukrainian officials and Ambassador Weeratunga introduce Sri Lanka Embassy officials.
The members of the Sri Lanka delegation consisted of the following : Minister of External Affairs of Sri Lanka, Hon. (Prof). G.L. Peiris, Hon. Sajin De Vass Gunawardena, Member of Parliament, Secretary to the President of Sri Lanka, Mr. Lalith Weeratunga, Additional Secretary to the President, Mr. Gamini Senerath, Secretary of External Affairs, Mr. Romesh Jayasinghe

Мы все должны извлечь главный урок из трудного и непростого пути служения нации Е.П. Президента Шри Ланки Махинда Раджапакса — сила народа в его единстве! Махинда Раджапакса вернул народу Шри Ланки его национальную гордость и сейчас все шриланкийцы могут сказать «Мы – один народ, одна нация!»
29 июня 2010 года Президент Шри Ланки Его Превосходительство Махинда Раджапакса и Первая Леди мадам Ширанти Раджапакса вместе с членами делегации прибыли в аэропорт Борисполь в Киеве с 4-х дневным официальным визитом в Украину. В аэропорту их тепло приветствовал Министр Иностранных Дел Украины Константин Грищенко с супругой. В состав делегации Президента Шри Ланки входили Министр Внешних Дел Шри Ланки профессор Дж. Л. Перис, секретарь Президента Шри Ланки Лалит Виратунга, Глава Администрации Президента г-н Гамини Сенарат, член Парламента г-н Саджин де Вас Гунавардена, а так же представители бизнес элиты Шри Ланки, директор Комитета по Инвестициям Шри Ланки, Президенты Торгово-Промышленной палаты Цейлона и Шри Ланки.
Президенту Махинда Раджапакса по традиции преподнесли хлеб-соль, а мадам Ширанти Раджапакса цветы. По традиции, глава Секретариата Президента Украины представил высокопоставленному гостю Украинских официальных лиц, а Посол Шри Ланки Удаянга Виратунга, аккредитованный в Украине, представил Президенту официальных лиц и дипломатов Шри ланки, работающих в Посольстве.
Приветствовали г-н Константин Грищенко- министр иностранных дел Украины г-н Леонид Черновецкий -Mayor Киева. У подножия лестницы самолетов, 3 украинские девушки присутствует Хлеб & AMP; соль Президенту. Также 2 украинские девушки дарят цветы к мадам Раджапакса. Его превосходительство, Президент ходить по красной ковровой дорожке, а потом руководитель Секретариата Президента представит украинским чиновникам и посол Виратунга ввести чиновников посольства Шри-Ланка.
Шри-Ланки по внешним связям министр Профессор Г.Л. Пейрис, президента секретарь г-н Лалит Виратунга посол Шри-Ланки ЕП Удаянга Виратунга который одновременно аккредитован в Республике Украины были также присутствуют. После первоначального церемонии президент сопровождают на официальном Вип зале и чай был подан для делегации Шри-Ланки. министр иностранных дел Украины в сопровождении президента Раджапаксе в отель Hyatt Regency в Киев, где лидер Шри-Ланки был приспособлен.
