It is noteworthy that the event, which was organized by the Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Russian Federation, took place for the 4th successive year with the participation of Sri Lankan students from Russian State Universities and the Sri Lankan business community in Moscow. The Annual \u201cEmbassy Cup\u201d Cricket tournament has been organized by the Sri Lanka Embassy since 2008 with the vision of bringing the Sri Lankan community together and promoting unity among the Sri Lankan student community. The event saw the participation of 8 teams representing the Peoples Friendship University of Russia, Kursk State Medical University, Tver State Medical Academy and Moscow State Automobile and Road Technical University (MADI).<br \/>\nThe Team \u201cKursk Royal Panthers\u201d representing Kursk State Medical University won the \u201cEmbassy Cup 2011\u2033 and received the trophy from H.E. Udayanga Weeratunga. The team \u201cParakumba\u201d representing MADI became the runners-up of the tournament. All team members were awarded a certificates of participation.<br \/>\nThe Sri Lankan Business Community in Moscow contributed in many ways in arranging the event. Udayanga Weeratunga, Ambassador of Sri Lanka in the Russian Federation.
