Workshop for travel agents with Maldiviana travel company

On 16th of April 2009 one of such an event took place at the Embassy of Sri Lanka together with Maldiviana Travel Company. More than 30 Agents came to listen H.E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka. During the tea break all participants were able to taste the best Sri Lankan food except the finest pure Ceylon tea. The second part of the workshop was devoted to hotels and flights description from Tourism Promotion Assistant Ms. Anna Korolkova.
Mr. Udayanga Weeratunga shared with Agents information about the country (some aspects of traveling, customs and visa formalities, and souvenirs as well as the main historical heritage and ancient towns, culture and nature) and answered the questions about future plans of developing the new eco project in Kalipitiya within the next few years. During the meeting participants had an opportunity to see the new images of Sri Lanka on the big screen. The Best Agents was awarded with the diploma and special presents from H.E. the Ambassador. After the workshop all guest had a cup of tea and a small discussion in informal atmosphere with Mr. Udayanga Weeratunga.
All participants got presents from the Embassy such as video and brochures about Sri Lanka as well as a new Embassy’s project – audio guide about Sri Lanka in Russian Language.
We would like to say words of thanks to all travel agents and tour operators especially. Hope that the experience which they got during the meeting and the new audio guide about Sri Lanka in Russian Language will help them in their work for promoting Sri Lanka on the Russian Market.
