මොස්කව් නුවර PRODEXPO – 2013″ වෙළෙඳ ප්රදර්ශනය

Sri Lanka Tea Board represented by the Tea Promotion Unit at the Sri Lanka Embassy in Moscow, participated in the annual “PRODEXPO 2013”, the 20th International Exhibition for food, beverages and food raw materials. It was held at the Expocentr fairgrounds in Moscow, from 11 to 15 February 2013. The exhibition is held under the patronage of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Agriculture and the Moscow Government and organized by Expocentr. The event was graced by H.E Ambassador Udayanga Weeratunga who declared open the Sri Lanka stand.
Prodexpo now ranks as the largest exhibition for the food and processing industry in Russia and Eastern Europe and participants showcase the best food product samples and the industry’s latest achievements and technology. The Tea Promotion Unit held a public tea service throughout the period which was well attended by both public and participants.
Together with Sri Lanka Tea Board, 05 leading Sri Lankan tea exporting companies also participated, namely, Ceylon Tea Land (Pvt) Ltd, Nature’s Pride (Pvt) Ltd, Kaushalya Tea Export Company, Dasatha Export & Import Intl (Pvt) Ltd and Stassen Exports (Pvt) Ltd.
Ceylon Tea Land which is a fast growing company has been a regular participant at Prodexpo in previous years and their brand “Creatlur” is marketed in Moscow and other regions. The company management was satisfied with the response received at this year’s exhibition.
New comers such as Dasatha Export & Import with their new brand “James & Grandfather” were enthusiastic about the response from potential buyers for their product. Likewise, nature’s Pride (Pvt) Ltd, participating for the second time, were able to start negotiations with distributors for their brand “Tranquil”.
Tea giant Stassen Exports displayed their “Stassen” brand in fresh packaging and were looking to increase their distribution range to Moscow and suburbs, from their existing supplies to regions. Kaushalya Tea Export Company, who already supplies the “Mouslam” brand, marketed their own range of “Tenny Leaf” brands and had many inquiries.
Additionally, leading Sri Lankan exporters such as, Dilmah MJF Group, Finlays (Pvt) Ltd, Jafferjee Brothers, Imperial Tea Exports (Pvt) Ltd, HVA Foods, Millennium Teas (Pvt) Ltd etc, also brought strength to the Sri Lanka representation in the exhibition. Leading tea exporter Akbar Brothers were represented by their partner Sapsan Group of Companies. Orimi Trade who is a key Russian buyer was also present. Tea distributors representing teas from China, India, Kenya, and Vietnam were also present. It was a successful event for the Sri Lankan exhibitors who received several trade inquiries and potential business partnerships.
